2007 Ferrari F1 Unveiling

Well, what a way to return to blogging after a 2 week absence than by unveiling the 2007 Ferrari F1 Car! It was all the details were picked up today over at Autoblog, the best blogging site for car news. Items of note on this year’s model;
- This is the 53′rd F1 model to wear the famous prancing horse
- The car is slightly longer and heavier, but uses carbon fibre for the suspension
- While they make the comment that it doesn’t look that different, I see a number of differences, the first being the different shape on the two side air intakes, and the aero features right in front of the intakes. The rear spoiler looks smaller, and with a higher angle on the wing, but that might be their high downforce package. The front wing also looks different, but without a look a close look at last year’s model I would be hard pressed to tell the difference.
Overall, it looks fantastic, and most importantly it will house the fantastic Ferrari engine (yes, the same one that failed on Schumi once or twice). I think this is the perfect car for the Iceman Kimi Raikonen to take the Championship in 2007. Yep, I’m calling it already. Ferrari will regain the Formula 1 crown with the magical driving of Kimi. The Mclarens will run fast, especially with Alonso behind the wheel, but reliability will be their downfall. Look for good things from BMW and Robert Kubica, as well as Jenson Button at Honda. The biggest disappointment of 2007? Another dismal season from Ralf and Trulli at Toyota.
